Attorney and Professional visits can be conducted as contact or non-contact visits. Both of these means are on-site. Details on available times to schedule, how to schedule either of these forms of visits, and if documentation is required for a visit is listed below:

  • Contact
  • Non-Contact

Contact visits are requested through an online application (link available below). These visits are scheduled on a first come first served basis and space is limited on how many visits are conducted during overlapping timeframes.

All contact visitation requests must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the visits, for Tuesday-Saturday visits. Contact visits that are being requested for a Monday and/or Sunday, must be done, by Friday the week prior, before 12:00 PM.

Requests that are made for a day that is a holiday or the day after a holiday must be made by 12:00 PM of the last working day before the holiday. For a list of holidays observed, see the Frederick County website, fcva.us.

All professional contact visits are only allowed for attorneys, law enforcement officials, Department of Social Services Workers, or by court order. Any other requests will be denied.

Visits will not be available between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM. The times that visits are available are reflected below.

Your request will be assessed by staff, and you will be notified via email if your visit has been approved or denied. Time and date modifications may also be requested within these emails if the time and date are unavailable.

We reserve the right to cancel visits at any time to maintain the safety and security of the facility.

If your visit has been approved, please complete the Professional Visitor Access form (link below), and bring the form with you to your visit, along with a state issued photo identification. If you are an attorney, please also provide your BAR card.

If cell phones, computers, recording devices, or other tools are required for your visit, please note this in your request, as these items must be approved prior to being brought into the facility.
