The Northwestern Regional Adult Detention is governed by the Northwestern Jail Authority. This is in accordance with Virginia Code ยง 53.1-95.2. The Jail Authority consists of 14 members that are appointed by the four (4) jurisdictions that the facility serves. The Jail Authority delegates daily operations of the Detention Center to the Superintendent but meet quarterly to review the Detention Center activities.
