Human Resources is located at 107 North Kent Street, Winchester, VA 22601. Office hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding recognized County Holidays.
Appointments may be scheduled to conduct background investigations or polygraph examination.
Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be 21 years of age
Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must not have been convicted of any felony or serious misdemeanor.
The Adult Detention Center recruitment and selection process supports the County of Frederick Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plans. Applicants must successfully complete the following phases:
Submit completed application
Criminal History Review
Driving record review
Pre-Employment Physical Agility Test
Background interview and investigation
Conditional offer of employment
Final approval by Superintendent
The following will disqualify an applicant for employment:
Any drug use of any kind after the age of 30 or within the last 3 years.
Any drunk driving or DUI within the last three years.
