Frederick County Government Establishes Public Wi-Fi Locations

Frederick County Government has established two public Wi-Fi hotspots at Sunnyside Plaza and North Mountain Fire Station. If you or your family need access to broadband for student work or remote work tasks, just pull into the parking lot at either location and select “Frederick County Public WiFi” from your mobile device or computer.

At the fire stations, it is critical that citizens not block any entrance to the fire station or the vehicle bays. Additionally, we ask that everyone understand you are sharing the bandwidth and to not stream movies or other media unless it is related to schoolwork or other work-related items. 

The County is working to establish three more Public Wi-Fi hotspots at the fire stations in Gore, Reynolds Store, and Star Tannery. Those projects are working through the construction process and are expected to be online by October. When the sites are live, the County will notify the public.

These projects are being funded through the CARES Act.
